Everest view trek is a moderate trek that introduces you to this famous Everest region, its cordial people, and magnificent scenery: right for beginners and time-constrained travelers.

This short hiking trip in the Everest region takes you all the way half to the Everest Base Camp and serves the incredible view of snow giants including Everest vision from a fairly lower elevation. This trek is perfect if you don’t have enough time on your hand but still want to capture the best snapshots of the Everest region – your momentary gateway to Everest.

Everest View Trekking Program

This Everest view trek itinerary starts with the teahouse-based trek that follows the footstep of the legendary “Everest Trail” from the airstrip at Lukla. A local porter will carry your baggage all along the route to centuries-old villages. You will interact with friendly Sherpas of the Khumbu region and get a deep insight into local culture and tradition. Prayer Flags, Chortens, and Monasteries bring us close to their religious values and help in understanding Tibetan Buddhism.

We trek the same trail as Everest base camp trek 14-day itinerary to the prosperous settlement of Namche Bazaar (3,440m) – an unofficial capital of the Sherpas exploring Phakding and Monjo on the way. We spend two nights at Namche as a part of acclimatization. Then we hike to the Tengboche Monastery located at 3,867m which is the largest monastery in the Khumbu region. Here we get an outstanding view of Tawache, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Everest. On the way, we explore Everest view hotel, Kunde Hospital, Khumjung School, and Khumjung museum. Khumjung museum protects the scalp of Yeti and we have time to check it. Highlights also include crossing glacial rivers on sturdy suspension bridges, hiking through amazing farmlands, exploring skilled craftsmen at work, and watching loads carried on the backs of animals and porters.

Also known as the Everest panorama view trek, it is the perfect blend of mountain scenery with the unique culture and tradition of the Sherpa people which is closely tied to Buddhism. This Everest base camp trek itinerary is suitable for anyone who wants to enjoy the grandeur of Everest while taking on an easy trek.

Nepal Horizon Treks will customize your itinerary as a 5-day Everest view trek and an Everest view trek 7 days respectively.

Kathmandu: Cultural tours to Buddhist and Hindu Shrines and preparation for the trek

Today, your trek leader will introduce you to the city tour expert who guides you to the most revered Hindu and Buddhist religious sites that are listed in the world heritage sites.

Here is the list of cultural and religious sites that you will be visiting during the city tour:

Pashupatinath (UNESCO World Heritage Site):

Pashupatinath is one of the most significant Hindu temples in the world. It is located along the bank of the sacred Bagmati River in the eastern part of Kathmandu city, close to Kathmandu airport. While the entrance to the main Pashupatinath temple is strictly forbidden to non-Hindus, there’s quite a bit to explore and discover around the rest of the area. Ritual activities are conducted on a daily basis and one can observe the Hindu cremations on the bank of the river. You can discover mystic Sadhus at nearby temples and stupas. A vantage point located opposite the temple, across the river offers a clear look of the main Pashupatinath temple.

Boudhanath (UNESCO World Heritage Site):

Located 7 km north of mid-Kathmandu city, Boudhanath is one of the largest and oldest stupas in the world- dating back to the 5th century. It is located on the ancient trade route to Tibet and Tibetan merchants rested here and offer prayers for centuries. When Tibetan refugees entered Nepal in 1950, many of them decided to live around Boudhanath. They established many Gompas and celebrate Tibetan tradition and since then “Little Tibet” of Nepal was born.

The stupa is surrounded by beautiful stupas that house many Gompas and traditional shops selling singing bowls, thankas, prayer wheels, and more. You can also find a few cafes and guesthouses in the immediate area.

Boudhanath was partially affected by the earthquake in 2015 but the repartition was carried out throughout 2016.

Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) (UNESCO World Heritage Site):

Swayambhunath, a revered Buddhist stupa, is located within walking distance (3km) west of Thamel in Kathmandu on a hillock. Swayambhunath is commonly known as “Monkey Temple” due to the large number of rhesus primates living there. Travelers need to climb 365 stone steps to reach the main Stupa complex (can be tiring and slippery if raining). This stupa is believed to date back to the 5th century. The large dome-shaped stupa, two big Buddha eyes, and surrounding small shrines and temples are the major attraction of the temple. This hilltop temple offers a 360-degree view of Kathmandu city. This significant heritage site holds immense cultural, religious, architectural, and historical values for the Nepalese people.
After exploration, we gather at Nepal Horizon Treks & Expedition to get better acquainted with our travel plans and fellow trekkers.
