Langtang Gosainkunda Trek is a great combination of the remote and isolated valley of Langtang with the stunning high Mountain Lake of Gosainkunda. This trek is also a great extension of the Langtang Valley Trek. The Langtang Gosainkunda Trek offers a great opportunity to explore the Himalayan passes, pristine valleys, stunning lakes, and diverse cultures. Though directly accessible from Kathmandu, the trekking region remain relatively unexplored and less developed compared to another popular trekking region in Nepal as the classic trail or Gosainkunda trek from sundarijal
The Langtang Gosaikunda trek combines one of Nepal's simpler and prettier climbs with a concluding section that takes hikers down the picturesque Gosaikunda trail. Prior to the 2015 earthquake, which delivered the region a terrible blow, the Langtang region was one of Nepal's most well-known trekking destinations. It took until very recently for the region to recover, albeit tourist numbers are still lower than in previous years. Thus, the valley's once-enchanting natural beauty is still present, and choosing to trek through it contributes to the friendly Tamang population's economic recovery.
Before it leaves the tree line and travels into the alpine regions, past glacial moraine, and on to the restored settlement of Langtang, the road winds through lush rhododendron forest on each side of the river. The yak pasturelands and stunning environment for Kyanjin Gompa, a secluded monastery renowned for the creation of yak cheese, are farther and higher into the valley's inner sanctuary. A comprehensive view of the surrounding mountains, including Langtang Lirung, which towers above the valley at a height of 7234 meters, can be obtained by making the optional climbs to Kyanjin Ri or Cherko Ri.
The Langtang Gosainkunda trail goes east through the dense forest, rises high up to Langtang valley, and goes further to Kyanjin Gompa. Here we experience the spiritual lifestyle of Tibetan- Buddhist people. Kyanjin Gompa, 700 years old monastery, is the most venerated monastery in the region. Climbing Tserko Ri offers a remarkable view of the High Himalayas along the Tibetan border with Langtang Lirung dominating the skyline.
We retrace our step back to Lama Hotel and travel through Big Syabru and Sing Gompa to a high plateau, where holy Gosainkunda is located: adding up the view of Ganesh Himal. Hindus believe that the Lake Gosainkunda have been created by Lord Shiva when he thrust his Trishul (holy Trident) into the mountain and originate water to quench his thirst created by the poison. Thousands of pilgrims flock here every year on the full moon of august to perform the religious act.
The Langtang trek itinerary gradually ascends to Lauribina La and then makes a long descent to Helambu: admiring the great countryside life and scenery. We then continue south via the village of Kutumsang, Chisopani, and Mulkhara before driving back to the hotel in Kathmandu as the Langtang Gosainkunda trek costs.Highlight of Langtang Gosaikunda trek
