This 6 Days trekking package is perfect for those looking to explore the foothills of Annapurna, the world’s 10th highest peak, in a short amount of time. You will to be able to view a panorama of the peaks in the region, including Annapurna (8091m), Fishtail (6997m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Gangapurna (7454m) and more. On the trek, you will pass through numerous traditional villages and have an opportunity to closely experience the Gurung culture of the region. The trail takes you through lush hills and forests as well, creating the possibility of encountering the wildlife of the region such as Musk Deer, Leopards, Rhesus Monkeys and more.
The Short Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek begins with a half hour drive to Dhampus Phedi, followed by a 4 hour trek up the Modi Khola valley. You will spend your first night at Pothana. Over the next couple of days, you will gradually ascend through Deorali, Tolka, Landruk, Jhinu, Chhomrong and Sinuwa up to Dobhan. You’ll be able to closely interact with the local Gurung, Magar and Thakali people during this time. The fourth day will be a tough one as you head out of Dobhan early for the Annapurna Base Camp. Climb up to Himalaya Hotel at first and eventually reach the Machhapuchhare Base Camp. This area, also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary, is a vast amphitheater surrounded by a wall of snowcapped peaks. The view from here is truly memorable. Finally, continue the ascent for two more hours to reach the Annapurna Base Camp, another highlight of the trek. Explore the base camp and enjoy your time there before heading to a hotel/lodge nearby to spend the night. The next day, descend to Sinuwa through Bamboo. Finally, all that’s left is to retrace your steps through Chhomrong and Jhinu upto Nayapul and catch a ride back to Pokhara.
